Pack Bedrooms & Bathrooms the Smart Way with Allied – The Careful Movers
Preparing for a move in Greece? Bedrooms, nurseries, and bathrooms contain essential, fragile, and high-value items that demand special care. Allied, The Careful Movers, helps families in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, and across the islands pack these personal spaces with confidence — whether working with local movers for a city move or planning a full international relocation.
Start with Less-Used Rooms First
Begin with guest rooms or storage areas. For families with children, encourage them to pick a few favorite toys or books to carry with them personally rather than pack. Color-coded labels or personalized stickers make unpacking far easier once everyone’s belongings arrive.
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories: Pack with Care
- Use wardrobe cartons to move hanging clothes crease-free
- For folded garments, pack into suitcases or lined boxes
- Furs and delicate fabrics should travel personally to avoid climate damage
- Wrap each shoe individually — especially delicate leather or heels
- Use hatboxes or soft-lined cartons for headwear, marked “FRAGILE”
Ask a professional moving company about tailored packing supplies for wardrobe items designed for moves within Greece.
Keep Jewelry & Valuables Close
- Carry precious items like watches, jewelry, or coins in a secure travel case
- For collections or heirlooms, consider a specialized moving service or armored transport
Safely Pack Toiletries and Bathroom Items
- Avoid packing aerosols like hairspray or deodorant
- Tape caps shut and place bottles upright in leak-proof cartons
- Clearly label these boxes as bathroom items and keep them upright throughout transit
Mattresses, Bedding & Linens
- Protect mattresses with cartons or mattress bags
- Wrap fine linens, or use them to cushion breakables elsewhere in the load
- Pack pillows in boxes — they double as excellent padding for fragile items
If storage is part of the move, pack these items tightly to prevent moisture buildup or compression during transit.
Furniture and Décor Preparation
- Take apart bed frames a day in advance of moving day
- Use mirror cartons or wooden crates for framed glass
- Wardrobe boxes work well for curtains and drapes too
- Clean and roll rugs for easy loading
